Six hand-embroidered flowers are featured on page 15 of a rare 1928 silk embroidery sample book from renowned Guangzhou (广州; 廣州) textile manufacturer Wo Sang (和生).

This rare sample book features a collection of 40 hand-embroidered shawl patterns, each approximately 8cm², allowing for a close examination of the intricate artistry and craftsmanship of early 20th century China.

Wo Sang (和生), a prominent manufacturer of silk goods, satin embroideries, shawls, handkerchiefs and grass cloth, played a significant role in the export trade between China and the West. This rare sample book provides valuable insights into the production and distribution of luxurious textiles during this period, and is a testament to the enduring appeal of silk and the rich cultural heritage of Guangzhou (广州; 廣州).

This item gives its address as "Canton", an outdated and inaccurate name used by early European traders to refer to the city of Guangzhou (广州; 廣州). It was derived from "Cantão", the Portuguese transliteration of "Guangdong".
