Sesame Street first aired on November 10, 1969, and it is the longest running children's program on American television. It is best known for its Muppet characters, created by Jim Henson. The show is produced in the United States by the non-profit organization Sesame Workshop. Roosevelt Franklin appeared on the show from 1970 to 1975.
