The apparel of the Hani ethnic minority group is all made of hand-dyeing homespun fabric. Light blue and indigo cloth is placed alternatively to make a multi-layer fabric, with the outer layer applied a layer of animal glue so as to be flattened and crease-resistant. With a shade of red shimmering from the blue background, this blouse was made by overlaying six garments with the same model, the innermost one of which has the smallest size but the longest sleeves while the outermost having the largest size but shortest sleeves. Such a design of sizes and lengths of sleeves makes the number of blouses overlaid evident at a glance, revealing the beauty of embellishment and the affluence of the wearer.
