Name given to a lace of assorted shapes (flowers, letters, baskets, bows ...), generally small in size and almost always sewn to the fabric or support where it is applied. In the early 17th century, bobbin lace gradually came to replace the technique of white embroidery. This innovation gave clothes and accessories a stylistic, decorative effect that was more dynamic and luxurious. Currently, there is a very wide range of possible uses for bobbin lace.
