The caption reads: “Two races have different forms for the same purpose. Which is the more beautiful?” The article in the National Socialist propaganda daily defamed Margarete Heymann-Loebenstein’s designs (shown on the left) as “degenerate.” They were contrasted with the ceramic design forms (on the right) of the ceramicist Hedwig Bollhagen, which were praised as being exemplary.
