The head is similar to those found on images of Buddhas at Borobudur, one of the largest and most complex surviving monuments of the Buddhist world. Borobudur is a gigantic step pyramid with five square levels surmounted by three circular ones. The circular levels support seventy-two small stupas, and a large stupa crowns the entire structure. In niches along the square levels and inside the small stupas were a total of 504 Buddha images.
