An artwork of great lyricism, with colour inks that are born from a delicate greyscale assessment of black and white, nuanced by a minimum addition of ochre and blue. Also lyrical are the tiny, rhythmic brushstrokes that consistently cover the space, the spacious, soft ripples of shapes that turn into landscape; the limits of these shapes, that repeat the undulations of the landscape vegetation with minimal gestures, almost like a fractal.
The gentle rhythms of the landscape are energised by the contrast in brightness between the different spatial planes. Thus, Azketa lays the strength of the shapes in the light, opening up the landscape to contemplation. This engages the viewer in the pleasure of painting, from a contemplation that relies on slow, careful, beats, leading directly to a meditation from a piece with a life of its own set apart from the suggested landscape.
