A hedgehog was killed by a medicine man using a stick. The hedgehog's skin is used together with root from the keptochumw tree as a charm to protect one against carnivores attacking the cattles. The charm is placed on the main gate of the cattle's pen in the evening. It is also used to cure chepuskut; If a newborn baby coughs and its throat is yellow the skin is burnt and ground to ash, which is put in the baby's mouth to cure it.
