Born in Copenhagen in 1897, Danish tenor Helge Rosvaenge became a star of the Berlin
Staatsoper during the 1930s. He was known for his impassioned interpretations of the Italian repertoire, almost always performed in German translation. "Keiner schlafe!" – better known as "Nessun dorma!" – demonstrates the power and lustre of Rosvaenge's majestic voice.
