Helicopter preparing to leave Alexandra Palace. On June 2nd 1953 BBC television recordings of the Coronation were flown to Canada in sections by three R.A.F. Canberra jet aircraft, leaving at intervals, for transmission by the Canadian and American television networks the same evening. The telerecordings were taken from Alexandra Palace to London Airport by helicopter.
