There are about 2300 species of dung beetles in the world, which can be found on all the continents other than Antarctica. They are all coprophagous and thus known as nature's scavengers. Heliocopris dominus is the largest dung beetle species in the world, feeding on elephant dung. They can use moonlight polarization to locate and feed.
