Oliver, Isaacc.1612-26

Dulwich Picture Gallery
London, United Kingdom

Henry Frederick (1594-1612), Prince of Wales, eldest son of James VI and I (see Attributed to De Critz DPG548). The image derives ultimately from a lost drawing by Oliver showing the prince full length but is probably taken from one of the engravings after this drawing, examples of which appeared as the frontispiece to M. Drayton's 'Poly-Olbion' of 1612 (see British School DPG430) and in H. Holland's 'Herwlogia Anglica' of 1620.
