1925 Cadillac V63 Tourer

Front and left hand side view. Motor car manufacturer, Cadillac, became famous in 1915 when it was the first American company to introduce a V8 engine in a production vehicle. Cadillac’s V-63 Phaeton was a luxury vehicle manufactured from 1924 to 1925; it was produced around the time that manufacturers realised that car appearance was an important factor for customers.
The V-63 Phaeton had a reputation for its mechanical reliability. It was an ideal service car and was used to carry passengers and parcels between Australia’s country towns. The V-63 featured an improved version of the V8 L-Head engine; its main innovation was a cross-plane crankshaft which improved balance and smoothness of drive. The V-63 was also the first Cadillac to have front wheel brakes.
