Bangkok, Thailand

The High Pavilion was constructed along the walls Front Palace in Bangkok, built in order to celebrate the elevation of Pinklao to the level of a Second King. Built to echo—in style and in function—Sutthaisawan of the Grand Palace, this wooden pavilion served two functions; one, for the Second King to observe war games on one side, and two, to observe the procession of envoys arriving on the other side. The structure was once located in the Outer Court of the palace, but it no longer exists in modern-day Thailand.
