One of the largest surviving undamaged and intact Hindenburg artifacts in existence is the radio operator's chair. The chair survived the explosion and fire due to the fireproof insulation surrounding the radio operations room. Designers purposefully sealed and insulated this room as the radio switchboard could easily spark causing a catastrophic explosion of the Zeppelin's highly-flammable hydrogen gas.
