Vertical, rectangular piece with a gold background, on which there are five horizontal bands with paisley motifs, interspersed with floral designs in pastel colors (pink and blue) and black. The top and bottom edges are unfinished. The paisley symbol, representing abundance, fertility, and intellectual creativity, links this fabric to India, from where it originates, although it is also often used in Persia and China. Here, there is no noticeable Chinese influence, as the paisley always faces right rather than alternating as it usually does in Chinese fabrics. The inner detail of bouquets and small birds make a clear allusion to Paradise.
