Houses in Rua Marechal Saldanha (Foz)

Following the European fashion of holidaying by the sea, Foz do Douro, the old fishing hub, expanded westwards from the 1830s. New streets were laid out according to an orthogonal plan, which were then occupied by residential housing and vacation homes. Nestling among the larger scale buildings with their wealthier design, there are small houses intended for seasonal renting.
