Oval brass works plate mounted on a chamfered wooden mount. The plate's text is machine engraved and painted red and reads 'HUDSWELL CLARKE & CO. LTD. NO. D.625 LEEDS. 1942 RAILWAY FOUNDRY'. The plate is from the locomotive 'Southam 2'. There is no indication of which side the plate is for. The back of the wooden board is painted salmon pink. Both nuts and bolts are present. The nuts feature a rounded head. There is some tarnishing to the brass in the lower right region.
