Hulme Crescents, Hulme, Manchester

Hulme Crescents - a series of four south-facing blocks of flats - was designed by Hugh Wilson and J Lewis Womersley. They were part of a plan to redevelop the Hulme district of Manchester. Plans were submitted in 1965 and by 1972 over 5,000 new homes had been built. Named Adam, Barry, Kent and Nash after historic architects, Hulme Crescents suffered with construction and design problems and were eventually demolished in the early 1990s.
