The Kabarigura Road and areas to the south of it, mostly unoccupied, are visible on the map. The gardens with hedges, through which a stream flowing, many temples and stepwells scattered around are visible. The presence of the stream and the number of stepwells fed by the stream itself indicates the arid nature of the region. Stepwells were developed mainly for the storage purpose especially in the arid regions like Deccan. It was easy for the people to get the access as well as manage the groundwater than with big well and tank.
