Over 3000 digital watches in five different colors are woven together to form a large carpet entitled I will never disappear/ for forever I’ll be here.
Historically carpets have been an integral part of nomadic life. Therefore the carpet does not only physically protect and ease, it also signifies the home, differentiating the home from the wild.

For centuries it has alsol been an element of domestic life, bringing comfort and decoration in the home. Carpets are often overlooked in the house but are at the same time intimate objects we live with in our daily lives. It is a habit similar to the way we relate to the continuation of time; we tend to ignore it although it plays a major role in our daily existence.
I will never disappear/ for forever I’ll be here juxtaposes the carpet as an everyday object with the measure of time that is represented by the contemporary mass-produced watches. The watches are designed as inexpensive disposable consumer products but used to form a durable artwork.
At the beginning of the exhibition the digital watches are all set to the local time and to beep simultaneously every hour. But soon thereafter the watches loose their synchronicity. The once punctual announcements of time become stretched over several minutes, resulting in a chaotic and at times rhythmic digital symphony.
The work makes our inability to control time audible and accentuates our awareness of the relentless continuation of time
