Plaster cast of a Roman copy in marble of the original created by Mirone around 460 BC preserved in the Vatican Museums. The specimen, datable to the beginning of the XIXth century, reproduces the type preserved in the Vatican Museums and found in Tivoli in 1791. A second discus thrower "at rest" is remembered both in the inventory of 1811 and in that of 1874.
