“The drawing, previously attributed to Bernini and later to Maratta by Pouncey in 1956, has recently been identified as a decorative project for the quadrant of a night time clock in a private collection in London. This clock is considered to be the one commissioned by the cardinal Antonio Barberini to the artists Giuseppe Campana and Carlo Maratta. Later he is supposed to have given it to Louis XIV as a present” (A. Bigi Iotti, 2016).
On the verso side there is a "Sketch of a boat and a series of numbers", made in red pencil
