An illustrated composition of the features that can be seen on the facade of Hira Mahal in the neighbourhood of Wadala in South Mumbai.
Unmistakably Hindu elements are paired with hallmark Deco features such as nautically inspired observatory towers and dark blue bands. Executed in plaster relief, an ‘Om’ symbol in a blazing sun rises above two diyas (lamps). This relief work is auspiciously emblazoned along the street corner facade of the building.
