'Impressies' is a light, sometimes very humorous ballet to Gunther Schuller’s ‘Seven Studies on Themes of Paul Klee’. Schuller used several of Paul Klee’s paintings as inspiration for his score and the choreographer, Job Sanders, has, in his turn, used the score and paintings as inspiration for his choreographic interpretation. The paintings he used as a stepping stone for the seven sections are:

‘Vogeldrama’
‘Abstraktes Trio’
‘Arabische Stadt’ and ‘Arabisches Lied’
‘Die Zwitschermaschine’
‘Ein Unheimliches Moment’
‘Theater der Exoten’
‘Sterbende Pflanzen’ and ‘Tanz der trauernden Kindes’
