This is an elaborately made incense burner. The Chinese lion shape is made of fine-grained sticky clay and coated with a black-tone iron glaze. The fur on the body and tail is depicted in fine-line engraving. This is one of the masterpieces among the collection of incense burners in the Tachibana family.
