Based on the inscription on the side and lid, this work is important and recognized as having been presented to the Atsuta Shrine by Katō Saeimon in 1613 (Keicho 17). This example of Mino ware was based on a Chinese celadon glazed incense burner from the Ming Dynasty.

- Object Notes(Japanese): 胴と蓋に釘彫で「慶長拾七年 熱田太神宮 九月吉日 加藤佐右衛門尉寄進仕候」と寄進の銘文が刻まれている。数少ない織部焼の在銘品として希少であるばかりか、中国明代の青磁獅子鈕香炉をモデルにいかに美濃焼の陶工が創意したかを知る絶妙な作品でもある。
