An indi is also used on auspicious occasions such as weddings, childbirth and naming ceremonies. As a ritual, a pot filled with water is carried by the mother on her head on the day of the naming ceremony of the child. This indi was made for such an occasion, using fabric and threads of bright colours such as pink, red and yellow. Beads and tassels were attached to add aesthetic value to the indi.
