A heart in red, blue and white.
Maris Bustamante is an interdisciplinary artist strongly linked to feminism, conceptual art and performance.
Her artistic practice characterizes by the presence of humor, daily life and Mexican contemporary culture.
Bustamante's pieces that are part of UDLAP art collection are result of the alliance between Uriarte Talavera and UDLAP to produce "Talavera contemporanea".
The piece is an anatomical cut of the heart like those we can see in a science book, even it has written on the names of its parts. On the other side, the heart has writing on some feelings and emotions that are popularly related to the heart. Altogether it’s a kind of irony, the mix between popular ideas about the heart and what a heart is.
