Ford’s Theatre reopened on January 21, 1968 as a national historic site, with a dedication ceremony that invoked Lincoln’s memory and offered tours of the updated Lincoln Museum in the basement. On January 30, 1968, entertainers performed on the Ford’s Theatre stage for the first time since the night of the assassination.
