Interior of the Church of Our Lady of Pópulo, Caldas da Rainha

António Victorino interprets with inescapable realism the interior of the Church of Our Lady of Pópulo, Caldas da Rainha, in this watercolour dated from 1944, where we observe a lateral altar on the transept of a church, highlighting the covering of the walls in tiles and the table of the altar where is the image of Our Lady of Fátima and Saint Anthony; in the small niche the image of Saint Isidore; on top of the arch, the corner of the triptych of the Passion, where it is possible to observe the deposition of Christ with Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea; the beams of light coming down from the window are spectacular.
