Introduction / Metronome

Artist I-Chen Kuo’s work is derived from strong emotions and intuition, which through a verse-like repetition of silent images, tightly binds memories to time. Besides exploring his own inner emotions, Kuo also beckons his viewers to experience them.
The swing of the device in Metronome, combined with the tick-tocks from within the store, causes the viewer to consciously notice the passage of time as well as the loss of track of time. Introduction, in which sheets of paper are blown away by the ocean breeze, also gives the viewer a sense of loss and regret; the sheets represent the things in life that cannot be expressed in words and instead have slipped away.
