Composition in black and white. Contour lines and parallel lines. It depicts work in a foundry. In the foreground, on the left of center, man standing with his back, 3/4 facing right, holding with both hands an iron bar diagonally in front of the body. In the lower on the left corner of a cube forming an angle of 90 degrees and the lower on the right corner portion of a barrel with a chain from above, the cut edges of the support. In the background, on the right, another man standing in profile and curved to the left, holding a piece that is on the floor between her legs. Also on the ground between the figures, a shovel, a key mouth and an iron bar. In the third level, on the left, man standing in front with legs apart, holding a bundle of iron rods in his arms. Seen in perspective between her legs to the left, three bundles of bars on the ground. A little to the right, another man, less defined and in that same position. On the right behind the crooked man, a checkered area with a container to the center. At the bottom, forming light diagonally from the left to the right and from front to back, the wall of the casting parallel horizontal rows, with two arches and a barrel part of the upper on the right corner. In the second arc and near the barrel, two more figures in small proportions and poorly defined.
