This is one of a few surfboards that came to the museum via an auction on the Gold Coast. Australian beer giant Carlton And United Breweries took over the assets of a surfing themed bar on Queensland's Gold Coast and auctioned them off. Peter Troy convinced CUB to donate a few of the boards to the museum, this was one of them. Balsa was used as a core material in the 1950s but was superseded by polyurethane foam in the early 60s. This board was reshaped by respected Australian surfer/shaper Richard Harvey but carries the logo of Jacobs Surfboards a Californian label.
