“During the period of his training and his establishment of a personal style, from the 1930s to the 1950s, in addition to still lifes and nudes, Iberê painted a great number of landscapes. These contained no human figures, only natural elements or houses. They were not just observations from nature: they represented places that were important to the painter, principally in the paintings produced in Brazil, before and after his study trip to Europe. [...] Marked a place of experiences and feelings. They indicated a locus of the artist. [...]”
