Jamuna - Naya scroll singer

Jamuna was born in Thekachak. She developed her skills as a singer and young painter to escape mendicancy. Later, her artistic skills proved essential in emancipating herself from her husband (in: Fruzetti, Lina; Östor, Ákos, Pinturas Cantadas: Arte e Performance das Mulheres de Naya, Lisboa, Museu Nacional de Etnologia, 2007, pp. 25-26).
