Object Notes(japanese):
法花とは、立体的に表した文様部分に、各色の鉛釉をかけわけた技法で、三彩の系譜に属します。技法の成立については、三彩磚や銅胎七宝との関わりなど諸説がありますが不明です。作例は陶胎と磁胎の二種に分けられ、磁胎のものは大型品が多く、器形や文様構成が景徳鎮産の青花や五彩に通じる点が指摘されています。本作品は磁胎の例のなかでも器形、文様、釉色ともに優れた法花を代表する大作です。壺の二面に花樹にとまる一対の鳥が表され、間を梅、椿、波濤、如意頭などの文様が埋めています。つややかで光沢のある濃紺の地と白色の対比が特に美しく、部分的に配された黄色が効果的なアクセントとなっています。壺内部と高台内には緑釉が粗くかけられています。
