As in many other towns in Europe, the Jews of Oświęcim were falsely accused of various crimes out of anti-Jewish sentiment. This 1592 pamphlet by Father Przecław Moiecki describes one of several such accusations, where a small group of Jews were accused of desecrating the host, the sacred bread used in the Catholic Eucharist service. The court found the accused guilty and sentenced them to a heavy fine.
