William Darton & Son was a London publishing house specializing in children's books and maps. The firm soon branched out into "dissected" maps and other cut up puzzles for children. It produced this jigsawed set of portraits of "The British Sovereigns" around 1830. Put together correctly, it shows the line of English royalty from William the Conquerer to William IV, who began his reign in 1765.
