Jug

A buff-coloured, ceramic jug. It is a wheel turned, spouted jug that has been decorated with applied strips which were then stamped with the dotted decoration. The jug has a slightly rounded base and is probably from a kiln at Michelmersh near Romsey. It dates to arund the 9th or 10th century. The spout has been broken, so it originally it would have been longer.
