Lois Arde - Acquah (b. 1992) is a Ghanaian artist living and working in Ghana. She creates hand drawings of her intricate and unique monochrome patterns on various surfaces to explore seemingly repetitive activities. With time, her initial process has evolved into cutting out these patterns from synthetic leathers thus creating sculptures. She pursued a master’s degree (2016 - 2018) and Bachelor of Arts (2011- 2015) respectively in Fine Arts at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. In a site-specific installation, Arde-Acquah drapes the interior of the Nubuke Foundation gallery with cut out synthetic leather. The draping is done in such a way to evoke an impression of the jungle. In that fashion, some of the draping falls off like a leaf in a forest.
