This Iberian pottery kalathos (a container in the shape of a truncated cone or low basket, with no handles or base) dates from the 3rd to 2nd century BCE. Found in the Olriols settlement in San Esteban de Litera, Huesca, it was made on a potter's wheel, fired, and painted. It has a cylindrical body with a flat, protruding rim. The base has been reconstructed. The join between the body and the base is slightly rounded. It is decorated in burgundy. The rim is decorated with three evenly distributed sets of ten lines at a perpendicular angle. The body is decorated with a single frieze that contains an undulating geometric pattern (ribbing), framed at the top by two lines under a thicker band, and at the bottom by two thick lines above a thin line.
