William Morris designed Kennet, one of his river series patterns, in 1883. The river Kennet flows from Wiltshire into the Thames. The pattern features rows of sunflowers and acanthus leaves which meander across the background of grapes and vines. This version is printed using indigo, in other versions the sunflowers are yellow and the acanthus leaves green.
