"Kente", a multicolored cloth, formed by very narrow bands sewn together, warn exclusively by men.

Among the Ewe of Ghana, the excellence of the confection, the uniqueness and the high cost of these cloths contributed to their use as symbols of high social status, being used by royalty and other dignitaries.

Currently, they are also made for the international art market.
