The mostly light-coloured white to yellowish Badorf ware was wheel-thrown. The vessels were often decorated using a roller stamp. A typical product was large storage pots with round bottom. They were decorated with ribbons, which contributed to the stability of the vessels. Made by pottery workshops in the Rineland region, they were mainly exported to North- and North-West Europe, but also inspired potters in Southern Germany to produce imitations.
