A variety of weaving techniques were used in the creation of this silk tapestry. Pale colors were applied for shading and texturing the mountains, clouds, and water. In this way, the objects differ from light to dark, which creates the illusion of distance in the clear arrangement. The shuttle was used in the creative process much like a brush used by an artist. No detail was forgotten. The outlining is bold, and the color scheme is naturally bright and beautiful. The hanging scroll's content reflects the nobility's taste for the refined and vast natural scenes of the Jiangnan region; it also reveals certain aesthetics that are difficult to present effectively in painted landscapes. As a quintessential of Master Shen's kesi landscape tapestry, the piece is cherished as a priceless cultural relic.
