Kosode (kimono with small wrist openings) of white figured satin (rinzu) of 1/4 weft-faced figure of key fret and flowers on 4/1 warp-faced ground.
The all-over design is of crysanthemums, hollyhocks and plum blossoms interspersed with a geometric motif of interlinked hexagons representing snow crystals. The design is executed in orange-red, green and purple, floss silk embroidery, gold-wrapped thread couched down in fine orange thread, silvery wrapped thread couched down in threes in thick embroidery silk, brushed black pigment and red-brown stencilling to imitate tie-dye (kata kanoko).
The garment appears never to have had a lining or collar piece and seems never to have been used.
