This high quality bureau cabinet for the display of porcelain reflects the fashion of the end of the 17th and first half of the 18th century when crowned heads and grand aristocrats quite often set up special rooms meant for the display of their china. This specimen was made for such a purpose. The upper, glazed part is lined with silk to which a carved and gilt structure with brackets is affixed, meant for the display of china. In this part of the cabinet, we exhibit 18th century porcelain produced in almost all the more important European manufactories: Meissen, Vienna, Frankenthal...
