Artist Ilana Pichon has been selected for this mural project that is painted on the concrete walls of the structure at the entrance of the pedestrian tunnel between the north and south platforms of Valois train station. She has designed a transportations-themed mural highlighting the history of Pointe-Claire – a history that is directly related to the means of transportation and their evolution.

L’empreinte de l’homme provides a graphic approach to the tunnel’s entrance, acting as an identifying device in urban space. The mural also creates a more dynamic and visually appealing environment at this location.

Each of the mural’s three parts tells a different story. The first part is based on a geographical map of the area, the second introduces the idea of slow speed and multiple crossings and the third shows five different means of transportation from the artist’s point of view.
