Marguerite de Navarre was François I's elder sister. She is renowned for her grace, mind, spiritualy and culture. She and her brother were brought up during part of their childhood at Clos Lucé, educated by their Mother Louis de Savoie. Her chamber is built of brick and stone laid with stretcher and header courses.
The terracotta floor tiles are stamped with the monogram of Marguerite de Navarre.
